Philosophy

When supporting our young people and their families Seen & Heard is guided by the following values;

 A hopeful and optimistic view of your child or young person's abilities and future

Seen & Heard  believe all individuals can learn. People learn in different ways and at different speeds. It is our responsibility as clinicians to provide the children we are supporting with high quality materials and experiences that capture their curiosity and help them reach their learning goals. It is our responsibility to ensure that our therapy is relevant, motivating, and engaging for the adults we are supporting.

 Unconditional positive regard for our clients and their families

Having a safe and nurturing environment is crucial for optimal development and learning. Children and adults can sense when we care and accept them for who they are not what they could be. Using a strength based approach, the children and adults we support are able to feel valued and be successful.

 An evidence-based approach that delivers high quality services

 Ongoing assessment and observations are used to ensure that our service is responsive to your child or young person's evolving abilities. Therapy is informed by this data as well as current research and theories of development and learning.

 A safe and inclusive space that encourages self expression

Our approach is tailored to your individual child's or young adult's interests and learning style. We embed sensory strategies throughout the session to ensure that your child or young person is being supported to self-regulate and is ready to learn.
